Every resume example is written and reviewed by our team of Certified Professional Resume Writers to ensure top-quality content and formatting.

One recruiter req can attract piles of applications from other recruiters, all fluent in the same sourcing vocabulary you use. The work itself keeps coming: agencies, in-house TA teams, healthcare systems, and tech departments are still opening seats every quarter. What separates the shortlist from the pile is proof of full-cycle requisition ownership with hires you actually closed.

Screening varies by employer. A recruiter resume usually moves through an ATS keyword pass, a TA coordinator or director review, then a hiring manager conversation with the CHRO close behind. To clear those gates, show sourcing pipelines built across LinkedIn, Boolean, and ATS/CRM tools like Greenhouse, Lever, or Workday, with time-to-fill and offer-acceptance numbers attached.

We reviewed thousands of recruiter postings, studied resumes that landed offers, and tracked current hiring signals. The examples below cover agency recruiter, corporate TA partner, and recruiting manager roles. They help you frame requisition load, diversity sourcing outcomes, and hires per quarter in language that moves you forward.

Tip !

The recruiter resumes that get scheduled within a week share three things: hires-per-quarter numbers tied to a real req load, the ATS and sourcing stack named on page one, and one line on diversity sourcing outcomes.

Why this resume works

  • Numbers tied to hiring speed: The 38-day time-to-fill and 11-day improvement give a hiring manager an instant read on impact.
  • Shows growth from recruiter to senior: Two clear roles at two companies make the promotion path easy to follow.
  • Covers the full hiring cycle: Bullets span sourcing, interviewing, diversity, and offer close, which matches what most recruiter job posts ask for.

Junior Recruiter Example

The junior recruiter is one to three years in, often promoted from a coordinator or sourcer seat. This resume needs to prove you can run intake calls, source from Boolean and LinkedIn Recruiter, and move candidates through an ATS without dropping handoffs.

Junior Recruiter Example

Use This Template

Why this resume works

  • Real numbers, not vague claims: Specific metrics on submittals, reply rate, and scheduling show this junior recruiter already tracks the right things.
  • Internship leads into a real role: The sourcing internship explains how Marcus broke in and what he learned before becoming a junior recruiter.
  • Tools match entry-level job posts: LinkedIn Recruiter, Lever, and Boolean are exactly the tools listed on most junior recruiter openings.

Senior Recruiter Example

The senior recruiter owns full-cycle requisitions across a function or business unit, often 15 to 25 open at a time. This resume needs to show hires per quarter, time-to-fill against a target, offer-acceptance rate, and the hiring manager partnerships you carry.

Senior Recruiter Example
PDF

Use This Template

Why this resume works

  • Closes hard-to-fill senior roles: Director-level hires and an 11-week executive search show this is more than entry-level pipeline work.
  • Coaches other recruiters: Mentioning two recruiters she coaches signals readiness for a lead role without overclaiming a manager title.
  • Holds offers above team benchmark: An 88% offer-accept rate against a 75% team baseline is the kind of comparison a hiring leader trusts.

Recruiting Manager Example

The recruiting manager leads a team of recruiters or sourcers and owns a hiring plan, not a req list. This resume needs to prove headcount delivery against an annual plan, sourcing channel ROI, vendor and ATS decisions, and the recruiters you hired and developed.

Use This Template

Why this resume works

  • Real cost-per-hire savings: Cutting cost-per-hire from $7,400 to $4,200 with a clear reason is the kind of number a CFO will quote back.
  • Built teams, not just filled roles: Growing the talent org from 2 to 7 and managing 9 recruiters shows true manager scope.
  • Career path matches the title: The arc from agency recruiter to senior recruiter to recruiting manager makes the promotion story easy to believe.

How to Write a Recruiter Resume

01 Open with the one thing a LinkedIn profile cannot show

Add a line a TA director cannot pull from your LinkedIn: a niche function you staff (clinical RN, embedded SWE, GTM sales), the average req load you carry, or a sourcing specialty like passive executive search.

Lead the summary with that signal, not with “full-cycle recruiter with proven track record.” Name the ATS you ran most recently and the function. One example: “Senior recruiter staffing embedded software roles on Greenhouse, 22 open reqs, 38-day average time-to-fill.” That single line tells a TA director where you fit before they read a bullet.

02 Put real recruiting metrics in your bullets

Most strong recruiter resumes carry numbers in three places: requisition load, hires per quarter, and a quality signal like offer-acceptance rate or 90-day retention.

Pick two or three of these per role: open reqs carried, hires closed per quarter or year, time-to-fill against the team target, offer-acceptance rate, source-of-hire mix, and diversity sourcing percentage. TA directors scan for these first.

“Sourced and closed 47 hires across engineering and product in 2025” beats “managed full-cycle recruiting for technical roles.”

03 Group your work by the recruiting motion

Cluster bullets so the reader can find each part of the cycle. Four buckets work for most recruiter resumes: sourcing and pipeline, intake and hiring manager partnership, candidate experience and screening, and offer close and onboarding handoff.

Under sourcing, name the channels (LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean, Hired, employee referrals, Handshake for early career). Under intake, name how you ran calibration and scorecard sessions. Under close, name comp negotiation range and the offer-acceptance rate.

This grouping lets a recruiting manager confirm in one scan that you run the full cycle, not just one slice. If your work sits in-house on a talent acquisition team, see our talent acquisition specialist resume examples for ways to present that scope.

04 Put your ATS and sourcing stack on page one

TA directors filter on systems. Greenhouse, Lever, Workday Recruiting, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters, Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, and SeekOut belong in a skills or tools block at the top of page one, not buried at the bottom.

Add SHRM-CP, PHR, or AIRS CIR if you hold them. Note any compliance training (OFCCP, EEO reporting) if you have worked in federal contractor environments. A TA director needs to confirm in five seconds that you can log in to their stack on day one without a two-week ramp on the system.

05 Cut staffing-agency cliches and stale tool names

Drop “results-driven talent acquisition professional” and “passionate about connecting people.” Cut Monster, CareerBuilder, and Jobvite mentions unless the target role explicitly runs them.

Also trim the long-form description of what a recruiter does. TA directors already know. Keep the resume to two pages for senior recruiters and one page for junior.

Replace any “responsible for” line with a hires-closed or time-to-fill number, and pull any req work older than 10 years unless it maps to the function you’re applying for.

Most Popular Skills on Recruiter Resumes for 2026

The skills below come from our user-built recruiter resumes. ATS platform names and sourcing tools clear the first cut, and stakeholder-management language decides whether the resume advances.

TA directors weight hard skills as a gate (do you know Greenhouse?) and soft skills as evidence (how do you push back on a hiring manager who keeps rejecting strong candidates?).

Soft Skills % of resumes with this skill
Communication 71%
Relationship building 67%
Negotiation 41%
Active listening 35%
Time management 26%

And here are the top hard skills showing up most often.

Hard Skills % of resumes with this skill
Candidate sourcing 73%
Applicant tracking systems 68%
Full-cycle recruiting 49%
Candidate screening 35%
Talent acquisition 34%

Based on data from thousands of recruiters’ resumes built on ResumeTemplates.com, May 2026.

Must Have on a Recruiter Resume

The table groups keywords by the kind of recruiting you do.

Niche Keywords for ATS Checkers

TA directors expect niche language matching the function you staff. Match the row closest to your target posting and weave the terms into your bullets, not a standalone list.

Niche Keywords ATS scans for
Technical recruiting technical recruiter, software engineering pipeline, Boolean sourcing, Gem sequencing
Agency and staffing agency recruiter, full-desk recruiter, submittals to placement, perm and contract
Corporate TA corporate recruiter, in-house talent acquisition, hiring manager partnership, intake calibration
High-volume and retail high-volume recruiter, hourly hiring, requisition load, time-to-fill
Executive search executive recruiter, retained search, passive candidate sourcing, C-suite placement

AI Skills to Add

Show how you actually use AI to source and screen candidates.

What AI is actually changing for this role
Sourcing

Gem, SeekOut, and LinkedIn Recruiter AI search now surface passive candidates faster, so pipeline depth matters less than message response rate.

Outreach

AI-drafted InMails and sequences are standard, and TA directors now read for personalization rate and reply rate, not volume sent.

Screening

AI resume parsing and matching score candidates before you see them, so calibrating the parser against real hires matters.

Scheduling

Goodtime, Paradox, and Calendly AI now own most scheduling, which shifts your time toward intake and closing conversations.

AI tools to name

  • Gem: Use it for AI-assisted sequencing and pipeline analytics; name reply rate and sourced-hire share.
  • LinkedIn Recruiter AI: Use it for AI search and message drafting; name the response rate you hold on cold outreach.
How to phrase AI on your resume
Do
  • Drafted Gem sequences with AI assist, lifting passive-candidate reply rate from 8% to 19% across engineering pipelines.
  • Calibrated LinkedIn Recruiter AI search against 30 closed hires, cutting sourcing time per hire by 4 hours.
Skip
  • AI-powered talent matchmaker reshaping recruiting through cutting-edge tools.
  • Leveraged AI to revolutionize candidate sourcing and engagement.

Recruiting Credentials That Get You the Job

Recruiting has no required license, so the certifications below tell a TA director which sourcing methods you’ve been trained on and how you read compliance. They signal a tier above self-taught. List the certifying body and year earned for each, and the renewal date if the credential carries one.

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP: Signals broader HR fluency beyond recruiting. Strongest for in-house TA roles where you partner with HRBPs on comp and policy.
  • PHR or SPHR (HRCI): Reads as compliance-ready to enterprise and federal contractor employers. List with the HRCI body and current expiration year.
  • AIRS Certified Internet Recruiter (CIR): Signals advanced Boolean and passive sourcing skill. Strongest for agency, RPO, and executive search roles where pipeline depth is the metric.
  • LinkedIn Certified Professional Recruiter: Confirms fluency in LinkedIn Recruiter beyond the basic seat. Useful when the target employer runs LinkedIn as the primary sourcing channel.

Latest BLS Statistics for Recruiters

Recruiter (BLS code 13-1071, human resources specialists) is one of the larger occupations BLS tracks, which means the median pulls in generalist HR roles alongside dedicated talent acquisition seats. The pay spread between the 10th and 90th percentile is wide, and the top decile is concentrated in tech, finance, and high-cost metros.

To position above the median, lead the resume with hires-per-quarter, the ATS stack you ran, and the function you staff, not with a generic “HR professional” line.

$72,910 National median annual
$79,730 National mean annual
$45,440 Entry-tier floor (10th percentile)
$126,540 Top-decile ceiling (90th percentile)
917,460 Recruiters in the U.S.
Where you stand

Entry tier

$45,440 to $72,910 At the entry tier, your resume needs to show coordinator or sourcer work, ATS familiarity, and 10 to 20 closed hires in a year.

Mid band

Top decile

$126,540+ At the top decile, your resume needs to show team leadership, annual hiring plans delivered, vendor decisions, and the function-specific senior hires you closed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do recruiters spend reading a recruiter resume?

Most TA directors scan a recruiter resume for 20 to 40 seconds on the first pass. They read for req-load numbers, the ATS you ran, and the function you staff.

If those three signals are not on page one, the resume goes into a maybe pile that rarely gets a second look.

Put hires per quarter, the ATS name, and your function in the top third of page one.

Should I list every ATS I've ever touched?

List the three or four ATS platforms you ran for at least six months. A long tools list reads as padding, and a TA director assumes you cannot be deep in eight systems.

Greenhouse, Lever, Workday Recruiting, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters, and Ashby are the names most worth listing in 2026.

Pair each with the role where you used it so the reader sees real time in the tool.

How do I move from agency recruiting to a corporate TA seat?

Rewrite agency bullets around hires closed, not submittals or placements. Corporate TA teams read submittal counts as agency noise.

Translate gross margin into offer-acceptance rate and time-to-fill, and name the function you staffed (sales, engineering, clinical).

Add one line on hiring manager partnership and intake calibration, and drop staffing-firm vocabulary like "BD," "split," and "perm fee."

Do I need a SHRM or HRCI certification to land a senior recruiter role?

No. A senior recruiter seat is won on hires closed, function depth, and ATS fluency, not on a credential.

SHRM-CP and PHR help most when you're moving from agency into a corporate TA team that sits inside a broader HR function.

For pure recruiting roles at tech or growth-stage employers, AIRS CIR or a LinkedIn Recruiter cert signals more relevant skill.

What's the best resume template for a recruiter?

A professional template fits a recruiter who needs to show hiring numbers and sourcing tools. You can fall back on an ATS-friendly template.
